Brandt & Tong Louie

Brandt Louie, chairman and CEO of H.Y. Louie Group (now Georgia Main Food Group) and London Drugs, is carrying on the legacy in business and philanthropy of his late father, Tong Louie, who passed away in 1998. Tong led the company from a small general store and distribution business that his father, Hok Yat Louie, founded in Vancouver in 1903 into retail and non-traditional drugstore. Brandt, who joined the family business in 1972, has continued to innovate. Both father and son have been inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and have received the Golden Pencil— Brandt in 2003 and Tong in 1989—among many other honours.
