Pierre Lessard

After 24 years with Metro Inc., first as president and CEO and then as chairman, Pierre Lessard retired in 2015. An accountant and Harvard MBA, during his tenure, he oversaw several major acquisitions, including the 1992 purchase of 48 Steinberg stores, the 1999 push into Ontario with the purchase of 40 Loeb stores and the $1.7 billion acquisition of more than 200 A&P and Dominion stores in Ontario in 2005. Before joining Metro, he was president and COO of Provigo Inc. He is a member of the Order of Canada and a 1995 Golden Pencil recipient.
