2022 Inductee

Ken Schley

Ken Schley’s work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were already evident as a teenager, when he started a DJ music business with friends. In 1982, he convinced friends John Briuolo and Noel Hayward to quit their jobs in a Cranbrook SuperValu to revive a boarded-up grocery store in Qualicum Beach, B.C. And so was born what became Quality Foods. Today, Schley is an entrepreneur, business owner, developer, and community supporter. He received the Golden Pencil Award in 2008 and the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers’ Life Member Award in 2014.
